Requires physical preparedness but can be done by ages ranging from 15-75years. You can never prepare enough for the great feeling before and after this fascinating experience.
Tour Plan
Set off in the morning for our 3 Days Low Budget Gorilla Trekking experience in Bwindi Forest. Its an enjoyable ride through the countryside having great scenery of the ever green country Uganda.
En-route, we stop over at the Equator for an experience of being in 2 hemispheres at the same time. At this point we get to witness how different the 2 are through some simple experiments and also have some photos, another stop over in Mbarara for lunch before we proceed to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon for dinner and relaxation as we prepare for the next day.
Meal plan: Dinner
Early breakfast then set off to our Gorilla trekking start point. At this point we are briefed about the Dos and Donts, grouped into our pre-booked groups to track and then set off into the Forest.
If one feels they would need a little help on the trek, they request for a help (porter) who would give an extra push or pull in the moist, muddy, slippery or wet places. You can never be prepared fully for this experience until you finish it. We trek until the spot where the Gorilla group may have spent the night; a point where the tracking begins following their trail. There is no actual time taken to find the particular tracked group but what’s sure they are eventually found.
Once in the presence of the Gorilla troupe; this is a special moment only expressed individually by particular person after the experience. An hour is spent with these gentle giants after which we trek back. Awarded participation certificates then we return to our lodge. If time allows, we have a visit to the local pigmy community, there after an over night.
